A big thanks to the makers of AID/SID. I have now (very easily, I might add) soft modded my xbox, backed it up (including eeprom/hdd codes), rebuilt a new 80Gb HDD (with xboxhdm), locked it and swaped it for the retail one - power on, and it boots up without a hitch.

My main reason for doing this - XBMC - so it's a bit dissapointing to find that for some reason, XBMC seems to completely lock-up on inserting a retail Audio-CD. This is XBMC from AID 2.11Final. I've also had it lock-up while navigating a DVD mp3 data disc, and when trying to lauch other programs or reboot... Any thoughts? I've had EVOX as my dash, and launched XBMC from there, and I've currently got XBMC as my dash - same problem in both configurations....

You could try and upgrade your version of XBMC, this may solve some problems...
