Okay, forahobby sent me to www.aideluxe.com to get the impressive download. Many thanks for that great piece of work! I used AR with Splinter Cell (Classic Edition) with no problems.
Now I have a problem - I can't get back on the 'Live' service! I've read a few threads regarding that to get back on 'live' you need a MS backup - trouble is I didn't make one.
I thought I could get around this by switching out the softmod while on Live, but I've tried many configurations, and selecting 'Live' just takes me back to the EvolutionX dash. I did install Xswtich for various bootup starts, but that failed as well. So I guess the only way around this is to remove the softmod completely?? So I can get back on 'Live'.
Any help on this would be very grateful.

Don't take this as gospel as I don't play live but I dont beleive you can play xbox live with a softmod box. I think you will need to format your C: with the AID2 disc and install a new M$ dash from there as well.
Re-do your softmod but this time be sure to make a backup.
When you need to go live you can restore your m$ dash that you backedup and also make a backup of your mod.
Maybe forahobby can shed a little lite.
Also ftp your backup to pc for safe keeping.

That will get your by. Just delete all the files in c: or format c: and install the m$dash from AID. It's like a retail dash in that, it doesn't contain any softmod files.
There is also a rumor that if you install the PBL+m$dash softmod you can cold boot games and still get on live. But that's if your feeling brave. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

Thanks... I'll try this out and let you know how I get on.
I also had a problem with FTP, but I think that was due to the fact I had the xbox set to Static IP while I was connected to our router, when it should have been DHCP.
Anyway... another day trying to get this to work with 'Live'

Well I got the ftp working by changing it to DHCP.
Well I tried deleting the files and then the xbox went into the ERROR 21 state and refused to boot from the AID disc. So I tried again but cold booting from Splinter Cell and re-installed the MSDash.. and it worked, apart from a few errors while trying to connect to 'Live'.
Now, I'll do a backup and I'll try what dangermouse heard - see if it will cold boot, but this time I'll backup everything.
I'll let you know if I get this working on 'Live' -

Nevermind, I'll try using these soft-mods on another spare xbox I have lying around. Luckily, we have 5 xbox's but only 2 are connected to 'Live'.
Gonna buy a new HDD and start from scratch, that should be fun!
