HI all ...

I have a new xbox - all original . The retail drive in it.

I would like to softmod this xbox but also replace the retail drive for a 250 GB drive. I read through the forum and couldn't find the answer. Is this possible? Some suggested I need a chip but then it's not soft modding anymore.

Any answers much appreciated and thank you very much for all the work done on here.

you can use a bigger hd in a softmodded xbox

i wrote 2 tutorials , look in tutorial section

Thank you very much pirrup . It took me a while to find the tutorials. I guess i had two browsers open and i was not logged in one of them. I'm sorry for causing any problems.

If I could please ask you one more question. ??? What can one do if the hard drive in the xbox dies. Is there a way to install the original software that came with the xbox from scratch?
