Hello everyone, I just wanted to ask a few questions.
Let me expplain first. I've read almost every tutorial online I could find. I "think" I pretty much understand the whole process of softmodding and how it works. I just downloaded the AID thing and SID, BUT, the thing is that I don't have access to a memory unit. That said, I can't install evox and therefor I can't have FTP access to the box, nor can I go ahead and install a new dash or BIOS. In order to install the exploit I should have some sort of access to the HDD, right? (be it a memory unit or hotswap, right?)
I'm more than willing to do a hotswap, and I understand the process, but I just don't know what files to put in there once I hotswap with my PC. Should I put the files of AID in there?, or something else. Please help me out, I just refuse to pay more money for a chip, knowing that there's a free alternative out there, and knowing that I CAN handle it. I just need a little help.
Thanks everyone, in advance.

oh, just to clarify. What I need is some instructions on how to install the softmod of SID3 manually in the harddrive with xboxhdm 1.9.
By the way, can I make a backup of EVERYTHING with xboxhdm 1.9?? (just in case I screw up)
Again, thanks for your patience.

The best person to talk to about this would be Pirrup I think, since he's the one that is getting into the hardware side of softmodding a little more than what I do. I'm merely just the software writer hehe.
But honestly, just buy yourself a Mega X-Key (which is a 32mb USB stick which can be used in the PC and Xbox) and it's a lot easier. I got one of these babies for writing an article for a website at the start of the year, and it's one of the best Xbox peripherals I own, I love it (alongside my Action Replay Memory card reader).
Sorry that I can't really be of much more assistance at the moment coz I'm in a hurry. If you need the structure for C Drive explained that you use with XboxHDM I can do that later on, as it's pretty lengthy (you need to extract the AID ISO and grab files, unzip files etc to do all this)...

the cheapest route would be to buy a M$ memory card and a Xbox-to-USB adapter (or make the adapter) which would allow you to use a Xbox controller on the pc and transfer the gamesave to the memory card. if you have a friend with a modded Xbox you would just need a memory card. if you already have a USB thumbdrive/jumpdrive you would need to buy (or make) a USB-to-Xbox adapter. more expensive route would be a Action Replay or Mega X key
