Ok, so I have halo 2 right.. I want to make a backup of it, I understand how to do it though ftp and that nobody says that you can do it through a pc because regular dvd drives dont decode or something like that, then my question is why can you put a regular dvd drive into an xbox and it work? And if so, why can't I take my extra thompson drive that I have from and old broken xbox and hook it up to my pc somehow? And If I can, will someone please tell me how? I understand its a standard IDE cable that you connect the drive to, but the power.. how do you convert that?
The xbox disc is burned differently. Its burned the opposite than a normal DVD (hence why you might need a Dummy file) to make it large enough to see.
Also, you can't put a Xbox dvd in a pc b/c of the firmware and I think also b/c of the FatX filing system. your computer just wouldn't understand it to the best of my knowledge.
If anyone has put an XBX dvd in a PC let me know. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Yep, if you wanted to make a backup you'd have to FTP it from your XBox to your PC, make an ISO, then burn it. It's the only way.
