from my experience its more what format of DVD and what brand of DVD drive you have in yoru Xbox. i haven't met a brand of DVD-R that my Xbox's Thompson drive hasn't liked

anyways I think I found a dvd disk to stick with, got a spindle of TDK dvd+r 50 dvds for $30
