Hello anybody. My xbox has died. It shows error16. I tried to download autoinstaller, burned it on cd and but in my xbox, but nothing happend. What happend. My friend has removed everything from my xbox by flash fxp from his pc. can i do anything about it. or should i buy a new one. Please help me. Thanx anyways. Grtz Spitfire187.

if you can no longer boot anything and you can not ftp , and you dont have a backup of the eeprom then u gonna have to hotswap the harddrive and restore the msdash ,
if you have the eeprom backup then u can just connect ur harddrive to pc and unlock it from there ,
i dont know the name of the software that does it but i know there is software like that ,
for hotswapping u gonna need software called hddriver,
but i dont recomend doing it if you r new to modding ,
so u either hotswap it or u gonna have to chip the box to be able to boot the autoinstaller and reinstall ur msdash _________________ Xbox v1.0/1.1/1.5/1.6a

well you got 1 of 3 options-
1. Format your HD useing Pirrups nice tutorial- http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-161.html
2.buy a chip
3. Buy a new xbox- scrap that one.
hey! Do you have the EEPROM backed up?
Basicly error 16 is a Clock loop- this useally happens if you unplug your system for to long and it needs to set the clock agian- it will TRY to briing you back to the MS dash to set the time- right, but when it cant find the dash it iniates error 16-
so if there is anyway you can chip it- thats your best bet- but f you CANT chip it, then i would try the HD Reformating, KEEP IN MIND THIS MAY DAMAGE STUFF! USE AT your risk (ive done it a few times, but i've had no probs.)
and theres just getting a new box.
