I wasn't going to ask why, I just thought I'd answer the 2nd question about what a hotswap was since it made more sense. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

you can't ftp without modding it first, but you wouldn't be doing the hotswap to put the gamesave on in the first place, you would be osftmodding/preparing the hdd in one difficult process

Help me with the train of though funkydopeloven. Am I getting that he wants to hotswap a gamesave in to a hard drive before doing any kind of modding? I've never softmodded but like I said, if it's anything like a chipped box, would it not be easier to forget the hotswap and just mod the Xbox, then do all the enhancments like ftping game saves? I just can't seem to picture what is trying to be accomplished here. Forgive me.
I mean if all this hotswapping is to accomplish is introducing a game save, would it not be easier and more time saving just to go buy a memory card for crying out loud? _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

exactly. i've never done it and am no expert but hotswapping is basically creating a softmodded hdd on your pc. to hotswap the hdd to add a gamesave so yuo can softmod it is using a sledgehammer to drive a thumbtack its doing things the hard way. in theory you can do it though, but hotswapping is usually meant for the last resort to recover a softmod gone wrong.
edit: shark, you asked if it would be easier to mod it then add gamesaves. but to softmod you need to get the gamesave ONTO the xbox to begin with. and if you don't have access to a modded xbox or an Action Replay to transfer the saves onto the memory card your SOL that way. the next option is to make a USB adapter and use a USB memory stick. i think what you'd be looking at doing is skipping the entire gamesave step, and just creating a softmodded hdd on your pc via hotswap. you don't need to add a gamesave with the hotswap cuz you are creating a already softmodded hdd

Ok so let me get this straight. Hotsawping is used as a last resort to safve your Xbox? And I could Hot swaqp and put the gamesave in the xbox in theory, but it would bre easier to get action replay? Alright, I'll try and save save enough money for one. Thanks for helping me, if I tried hotswaping without knowing it could screw wit my Xbox big time I would also be screwed.
