After getting my Xbox-hq t-shirt yesterday, I decided to start spreading the word. My wife wanted to go to the mall so I drove her there. As we're leaving the mall we pass an EBGames store where one of the employees was standing outside.
The guy came up to me and said " You shouldn't be wearing that shirt". When I asked why he said "Modding is illegal". After I stopped laughing, I asked him if he owned a xbox and he said yes, then I asked if it was modded and he did not say anything which means yes.
He told me that some guy was thrown out the store because he was asking questions about modding and if they knew where he could get it done. At this point, the guy that was inside came out and told the other guy "you shouldn't be out here talking to him, look at the shirt he's wearing". The guy acted like I had fucking cooties or something. Then he said "I hope you aren't planning on coming in here with that shirt". I took that as an invitation and walked inside.
The guy was trying to get me to leave because people started looking at my shirt. I told him that I was going to buy a game, when I went to the counter with a pre owned Black Hawk Down, he said "Now you know that if you open it you can't return it because that's what you guys do." After laughing again, I said " do you mean you guys as in Puerto Ricans?" The guy almost shit his pants, he said no, I mean you modder guys.
Now my question is this, do us "Modders" have a certain look that they can tell who we are? I think that ALL EBGames / Gamespot employees are so full of shit. (with the exception of those here at xbox-hq). They do the same exact thing but then turn around and treat people like shit when they know that you do it too. Then my wife looks at him and says "Do I detect envy in your voice, you know my husbands a good guy, if you're nice to him he might get you one of those shirts" DOH... Man, I nearly pissed my pants.

Honestly, what did you expect from minimum wage counter keepers dude? Einstien? I got my extra two shirts in the mail yesterday. Perhaps a visit to my local Gamestop is in order. No, not ALL Gamedtop employyes are- i work for softwear ETC.- an affiliate of GAmestop- i've worn my shirt there once- not during work- just stopping by, and they just laughed- i got a few of them to check out the site- it was GREAT!!!
Oh- and by Modders- i kow what you mean,i had a relitive give me crap saying IM the reason Halo 2 modding is going on- and all this other B/S-
if anything- if we modders give out a look- like a sterotype- its pure genius, or madness..you take a pic.!

Do heaps of people in America know about Xbox-hq or isomething, it seems that way as you are saying that their all looking at you weird and giving you dirty looks.
if someone here in Austrlia walked into an EB here in Australia, no one would raise an eyebrow or do anything, as most people probably wouldn't even know about Xbox-hq.
