ok i softmodded my xbox and then accidntly formated all the drives and deleted everything.I can't run the softmod installer, due yo yhe fact I erased the gamesave off my hard drive. I cant do anything but play games. I have no dashboards at all not even ms dashboard so when I turn on the xbox without a game my on light is red and it tells me to call customer service, I think I screwed up behond return!So is my X-Box useless or is there something I can do to get X-Boxes factory defualt settings back,like it was new straight from the box? I was going to try auto install thing but I couldnt ever get it to boot on my X-Box it keeps saying call costumer service!When I try to run the 007 exploit through the meory card it stops then restarts and goes to the Call costumer service screen again!I really love my X-Box and I think it is useless,other than playing damn singleplayer games, due to the fact xbox live wont run becuase the dashboard isn't the new version, and it will not download new version.So is my X-Box like an old nitendo system that won't do anything but play single player games now , or is there a way to fix all this ?

oh yea if I do contact costumer service and tell them I have no clue what happened, then do u think they can fix it? Just maybe! I still have the waranty, is there a way for them to tell I softmodded? And if so,does that screw my warranty over?

Get a mod chip, get aid 2.01, reinstall the msdash.
If you want to run live, get another harddrive, with an extended IDE cable allowing for 3 devices, not just the standard dvd / hdd cable. Then put all your modded stuff on the second hard drive.
Technically you voided your warranty, but if the evidence isn't there.... tell them you let your big computer buddy borrow it. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Sending it back to MS will cost about 99 bucks or more + shipping. A mod cihp is cheaper, even if you get someone to install it. And the modchip is far more reliable do to the fact you can't customer screen yourself and not beable to get out of it. _________________ XBOX v1.6

WOW!!! ok I don't really understand the tuturial (can u maybe dumb it down a bit for me? ) but im going to give it a try. first I need to know how do I get the latest Ms dash(it is not in the downloads section,like you said in a previous post on the forum)? ok i still need to know where to get ms dash! but also i need to know how to unplug my pc IDE cable, there is only 3 in my pc and none go to h.d, one going to cd drive, one going to floppy drive, and one going to the on/off power area, i tried unplugging these and the computer still booted!!! How do i unplug my hd? will it be a thin wide grey cable like in my xbox

I am so freaking confused!!!
I also need the orignal dash i think... Here's what I did... I backup to e: then I started to load NKpatcher + MS Dash as per the tutorial It came to an error (tried several times) then I decided to restore from e: and it gave me several errors. I rebooted and now I get the service errors. I am reading your tutorial on how to fix the HD but it's almost like japanese. I have downloaded the xboxhdm 1.9 and going through it but I have no dash to put in c: folder. Please help

My confusion is step 9
1. Exactly when do I pause the computer? Is during the memory test ok?
2. When disconnecting the xbox HD do I disconnect from the MB or HD?
3. When plugging into computer do I plug into MB or do I disconnect the computer's HD and plug it in there?
4. The ISO disk I made does it go into the CDROM drive in the computer? Is this where the menu comes from in step 11?
