Posted: Fri Jul 22, 2005 2:21 am Post subject: Dirty Disk" error, BUT, not the drive.....
I was hoping I could get a little advice. I am getting the famous "Dirty Disk" error. Here is the twist. I have two XBOXs. Both are Ver. 1.0. One is SOFTMODDED and the other is not. I can swap the drive to the other XBOX and it works just fine. Anyways, I have tried swapping IDE cables, cleaning the lens and mirror, took both drives apart, used compressed air......NADA! until I got tired of taking the XBOX apart. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

very strange that you say it work`s in your other xbox?
I pressume there is a reason why you can`t leave it in the xbox that isn`t softmodded as you said it work`s in there,
I really hate the xbox dvd drives myself as they all seem to have a mind of thier own
My mate bought a samsung on everybody`s recomendation only to find it`ll wont play cd-r`s then bought a hitachi on my recomendation only to have the samme problem, when i attach my samsung or my hitachi to his xbox, it play`s all disk`s fine!

Is it doing the "dirty disk error" on all dashboards? What kind of mod is the chipped box? Long shot is bios error like the wrong M8 installed. I'm guessing still. All the drives are Thompson. It si a softmod with the latest Slayer install CD. No matter what type of disk I use, I get the same error. But, only in THAT xbox. It is not the drive. It must be the motherboard or somthing. ANYONE heard of this AND a fix??? _________________ You have to let it all go:
