It's my first time installing a mod chip so I'm new at this..

I'm following cap's iceguide for installing my xeniem mod chip and upgrading my hard drive and so I was wondering when exactly would I need to run the auto-installer? after the hard drive upgrade? when would I need to back up the eeprom? after the AID install is done? would AID get rid of XOS?

Thanks for any help!

ps. would i be able to just install the modchip and run the autoinstaller right off the bat? the guide talks about backing up the msdash and what not but will the installer do all that?

These are the steps I'm going to take...

1. Install the modchip
2. Add the original dash onto the launch menu of XOS from TSOP
3. Set time and date
4. Add a new bios (probably the latest version of X2)
5. Back up EEPROM
6. Remove old hard drive and replace with the new drive
7. Boot Auto-Installer Deluxe CD
8. Setup Hard Drive, Applications, Dashboard, etc.

Does that sound about right?

Also what is the latest version of X2 5035? I'm using a 160GB HD will this bios work with this?

I would install AID after flashing the bios, then backup the eeprom and finally upgrade the HD from the Xenium screen. As for the X2 5035 bios, I have never used it before. Being that you have a 160gb HD make sure that you have the LBA48 patch for the bios if not it will not show more than 137gb. Also if you have the V1.6 xbox you can use the evox M8 bios with the patch that can be used with the V1.6 xbox.
