ok heres my problem ... I just got finished softmodding my xbox ... I have unleashed as my dashbored and everything is working fine. My network settings are at automatic and I try to sign into xbox live on halo 2 ... IT says press start to continue .. i press it ... then i can choose my profile and gamertag (normal) .... when i choose my gamertag .. it doesnt give me the connecting screen .. it takes me right back to press start to continue ... then if I set my network settings around a bit ... it says start trouble shooter ... I cant seem to get connected to xbox live! ... what am i doing wrong?

yes i am .. and in case you havent seen halo 2 for a while .. There were over 3 thousand cheaters suspended last week. And over 10 Thousand yesterday. ... I have been suspended before and I am suspended now for playing with modders .... Everyone I play with did the exact same thing I am trying to do ... and get suspended about once every 2 month unless they uninstall their mods before banhammer friday .... Now nearly every modder I know gets around the ban but me ... somone who doesnt have mods ... So yes i would like to sign into xbox live using nothing but the unleash dashboard

No ... Im going to get suspended no matter what I do. I play with modders constantly ... I get suspended just as long as the modders .. and face the same concequences. Id just rather be able to help them mod and get suspended. .. than do nothing and get suspended.

iC well no idea really, i don't know of anyone personally that even cheats online and its not really talked about or discussed here which is probably a good thing since i beleive Bungie or M$ said they were going after sites that did. its these cheaters (don't call them modders, it gives us a bad name) on Xbox Live that ruined it, why would we want to support them anyway?
edit: just did a quick look and didn't actually see anything about them going after sites, but i for one don't condone cheating, and basically despise the people that don't have the skills to play a fair game
edit2: despise cheating against other players in multiplayer, cheat all you want in your own games

You HAVE to restore ms backup to go on, you can still go on with mods. Then if you want to get yur modded menu again load up splinter cell and restore mod back up. Then to go online restore mc back up again. Also when u restore MC back up you have to go and set your ip to auto.

So you guys, if I get this correctly you are fine playin´on Live if you just use the MS Dashboard thiny or whatever you´re talkin´about.
So you get some sort of menu where you ca choose b´tween them right.
Correct me if I´m wrong.
Oh yeah what´s SOFTMOD.

softmodding is when you use a savegame expolit which you put onto an action replay or mega-x-drive, you load up your exploit game i.e. mechassault, splinter cell or 007. you boot up a menu which install a softmod which makes your xbox act just like you've installed a modchip, except you didn't even have to touch any of the hardware.
Once you have your xbox softmodded, yes there is a menu which you choose to put the ms dashboard back on or to put the mod back on

Here's the latest I had on what the plans may be for sites that assist in cheating on XBL "Lastly other sites have begun closing their forums as well. It appears that the cheating is not only becoming a headache but a real issue that may have legal ramifications."
