Hi everyone! I wasn't exactly sure which subforum to post this in, so please bear with me.
I have a virgin v1.4 xbox here that I'd like to flash the TSOP on with a third party BIOS (EvoX). Is there a way I can do this without having a memory card and a copy of 007?
I have another X-Box here (v1.1) with a Xenium installed and working wonderfully. Is there some way I can put the Xenium in the virgin X-Box, flash the TSOP, and then put the xenium back in the v1.1 xbox?
I basically just need to flash the TSOP on the v1.4 xbox without having a game/memory card to do the softmod boot thing.
Thanks for any help or insight you can give me!

hi,
I dont see any reason why you wouldnt just install a softmod.. Im no softmod expert but have recently starting doing them and they work just fine... Also you can still play the xbox on LIVE if you want as well..
But, you could however remove the Xenium from your v1.4 xbox and install it into your other xbox no probs.. Then you just have to boot up and disable the modhip.. Then flash your TSOP with the right sized TSOP..
I dont recommend doing TSOP flashes.. Its not worth it..
anyway, up to you.. hope the comments help

Because I don't want to go buy/rent the game needed for the softmod? I don't want to buy a memory card either?

You can't do this. When you've booted with an LPC mod you can't flash the TSOP, even if you disable the mod after booting.

Why don't you recommend a TSOP flash? In my opinion it's even better than a mod chip, especially if you don't ever plan on using XBL. There are plenty of alternatives to XBL anyway...
Anyhow, I think I found a method of doing what I need at another site which I understand is against the rules to mention here. It involves the font exploit, and I'm hoping that it will be sucessful.
Thanks for your time, and for offering your advice anyway. It's much appreciated.

I feel so stupid.
It didn't dawn on me that I could stick the modchip in there long enough to boot AID 2.2 and install a softmod. Doh.

I think doing a TSOP flash isn`t that dangerous as long as you don`t
just fling any old bios onto it.
the hardest part is the soldering required to do it.
Once it is done and you undo your soldering, your xbox would be
unf*%kable. unlike a easy kill softmod (unlock the hard drive on a
softmod xbox to srew it every time) or the chip`s
which are ok as long as you don`t flash them or they become loose
(not such a bad thing if you don`t mind opening your box).

If all its worth, If you are doing the tutorial from "X-Scessively full of shit"
I think for shits and giggle, not to mention the sheer ridiculousness of the situation,
DO THE TSOP WITH THE TINFOIL METHOD!
nothing like using what you've got. You know, I have some "10 penny nails" that I can weld together and use them to keep pressure on the metal solder pads.
Yea........Screw TINFOIL!
Thats a good Idea too!. I should be a tutorial writer over there! _________________ XBOX v1.6

Bridged TSOP contact points to enable flashing.
Installed modchip (Xenium) in virgin X-Box
Installed new 80GB HDD in virgin X-Box.
Booted Auto Installer Deluxe 2.02 and set up/formatted the drive
Installed the UXE softmod exploit via FTP, and set it up to boot EvoX
Installed raincoat .7 and put a copy of the latest EvoX BIOS (256k) w/ large drive support.
Powered off the XBox, removed the Xenium, powered the xbox back on and booted right into EvoX.
Telnetted into the XBox and used raincoat to flash the TSOP with the EvoX BIOS noted above.
Rebooted the XBox and all was golden!
