Ok, I do have a similar post but it's a different question I'm hoping someone can help me with. I just purchased an XBOX from someone. THis is what I bought. "An Xbox 1.1. Maxtor 160 ata 133 7200 rpm. Bios Xecuter2 4981. Samsung. I flashed the tsop. The on board bios. No mod chip. Dashboard evolutionx 3935." I have no idea what any of this means. But I do want to know what limitations I have as far as playing back up disc and networking to my pc. Keep in mind, I hardly know what MOD means. THe xbox plays fine and has a tone of software on it. I can back up my games to my HD and all that fun stuff. But Can I network to my xbox with a crossover cable? And can I create and play back up disc with it?

What you have:
Maxtor 160Gb Hard Disk Drive--Tons of storage
EvoX 3935 Dash--The menu screen you navigate with
TSOP (bios) flashed with Xecuter2 4981.--Modified from retail bios
Allows you to:
play backed up games from HDD or disc, ftp over network, watch DVD w/o remote or dongle, load alternative OS like linux, view digital pictures, watch divx movies. etc,
What you can't do is play on Xbox Live, you box will be banned if you try. However, there is xbconnect and xlink kai for free online play. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

WOW!!!! You made it simple for me thanks. One more question. I want to connect to my xbox with crossover cable to ftp. I want to make sure I have the right cable. I bought one that says "cat5e crossover patch cable Rj45 Male/Male" DOnt want to hook it up then blow anything up. Since I'm new at this there is a good chance of that happening.

That exactly what you need. It allows for a direct hook up....if you don't have a router. Just take note of the ip address of you box or change it accordingly. You can find it in the system settings menu. The login and password are both "xbox". _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS
