Ok.
I downloaded Auto-Installer.Deluxe.v2.0.Xbox-Hq and used the AID.2.0.ISO.Updater to install the Auto-Installer.Deluxe.v2.02.Update.Xbox-Hq. Everything went well and created the ISO image for me. I then used dvd decrypter to burn the iso at 1x on a dvd-r. Well I pop it in my xbox
xbox v1.6b
chip: X3
Bios: 3294
everything is ok from the xbox and chip side. When I boot up the xbox with the disc in the dvd-rom nothing happens. It just takes me to X3 config live screen. It wont boot from drive.

thanks,it all worked fine, i installed the pbl, it shows up as a app in avalaunch but when i try to start it the screen goes blank and i get the flashing red/green lights on xbox.
basically what i want to do is update my xecuter 2.3b lite bios from 4083.06 to the 5035.
sorry if the questions are dumb but i'm one of those people that need to see
it being done before i can learn it, or what most people will call "stupid"

Can you boot any other backups or dashboards from your dvdrom drive.
It just may be a media problem..
It looks to me like yo have flashed your X3 Bios already so thats ok..
It has to be a media prob or you need to reflash your x3..
OK this is what I get with the hdd that I have in my modded xbox (120 gig)
13 - kernel - Dashboard launch fail (due to missing/bad key, or anything else that would prevent it from running) and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed.
I used to have a dashboard on there and everything worked fine so I know its not the harddrive itself.
I just cant get the auto installer to boot. I have no idea why it wont work. The reason I am using the auto deluxe installer is becuase it has all the update apps and stuff.
so any ideas now?

If you have formatted it you will need to read this topic.
There is a known bug with AID2 that we have released a patch for.
If your AID2 boots with the AID2 intro and HQ logo then you have to patch it..

i tried that before i even search that before i posted the question so nobody would get upset that I didnt "search" for the answer. I tried everything different media brands and types from memorex, sony, tdk, and so on. including dvd-r, cd-rw and so on. Nothing works. And it really wasnt a "virgin" hdd. I installed the AID 2.0 on it before just fine. I am out of dvds so I have to wait to try another type of media but everything is tip top shape. I had evox on there before. And I havent touched anything in the bios, and options or the chip. I have flashed it and everything worked before. So i dunno

If you havent been removing or deleting files on the HDD and it looks like you havent been doing that so it could be a hardware failure.. HDD or MAIN BOARD.. Just have to keep testing.
Try another hdd.. Im hoping its not your onboard controller for the hdd..
Sounds suss to me..
Another thing.. If your modchip is fitted and working/flashed correctly it should never give you a error for disk unlocked.. Modchips dont care.
Maybe try flashing your chip again.. Theres so much to try mate.. sorry ;(
Another thing.. Your bois coulud have become corrupted.
Another thing.. If you can get to the normal M$ Dashboard check the clock is set.. If its not set it.
