Xbox-HQ.com will not condone any threads/posts in regard to piracy. Please do not ask where to obtain pirated Xbox games, nor supply links to any. Violators will be warned and/or banned and posts will be deleted. Please help keep Xbox-HQ in compliance with copyright laws and submit any posts that you feel are in violation to feedback@xbox-hq.com
With your help, we can make sure that this forum does all it can to make sure that it's not used to promote/condone piracy. Just remember, it is illegal to make a copy of a game you do not legally own. Also, if you make a copy of a game or piece of software that you legally own, if the original is ever damaged, destroyed, or sold you must also destroy your backup. Thanks to everyone for their cooperation.
EDIT: 05-05-2005:
When submitting attacments and/or putting images in a post please limit the width of the image to 450pixels at the MOST!!
I have been going in and changing peoples larger photos to smaller sized photos but I am getting tired of having to do this.
The forum does not function well when you have to scroll left and right and makes it difficult for others to read the threads..
I will soon start just deleting images that are too large.

Eww I didnt know about the damaged thing too. I got a question. If I have a booty load of MP3s organized into complete albums and also own a CD wallet full of the same CDs, except unplayable due to scratches but nonetheless A CD to match every mp3 album, is that legit? Around 2000 I ripped every single CD I owned because the CDs conditions were getting worse. Since then about 50% of thoes CDs have become unplayable. I didnt think I was supposed to delete then when they went bad.
Could somone clarify for me? I would have to say Im a little disapointed because I would brag to my friends that my music database was 100% legal (20Gigs) because it all came from discs I own. To keep em legal I never shared any of them with my friends (yeah Im a greedy punk). _________________ -Scourge "Rx = +/_\"

I am not sure that the destruction piece is accurate.
Under most commercial licenses, although one archival copy of the software can be made, the backup copy cannot be used except when the original package fails or is destroyed
The basic skinny is:
When you buy software, you are actually acquiring a license to use it, not own it. You acquire the license from the company that owns the copyright.
Restrictions on the use of software are far from uniform. You should check carefully each piece of software and the accompanying documentation yourself. In general, you do not have the right to:
Receive and use unauthorized copies of software, or
Make unauthorized copies of software for others. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

I also wanted to add this little disclosure about advice given to anyone who visits this site.
Nobody here can possibly know everything. Please, if we give you some advice and you have adverse reactions from your machine do not blame the person who offered the advice. All of us here base our advice on what we have experienced, or have found through other avenues. I know that I have often scoured the net looking for answers and supplied them to questions that I was not sure of. Please keep in mind that at times we are just passing along information that we obtained elsewhere and have no physical knowledge of the dangers involved with said fixes.
It pains me to have to lay this out, but recently I have had an instance where I was told that because someone followed my advice they nuked their machine. This person went as far as even trying to file a paypal claim against me.
If you open your machine, if you modify your machine, if you even sneeze wrong on your machine and something heppens, it is ultimately your responsibility. Please do not blame someone else for your actions. We will do our best to give you the most accurate information that we can. But keep in mind, these motherboards are very intricate. There are many things that can happen during a mod. It happens to the best of us. Even the most knowledgable modders cannot forsee absolutely everything that can or will happen if you open your machine. Look at it this way. Either you will succeed or you will fail. It's that cut and dry. But, if you fail you did so with your own hands.
This is why I feel it's best to get as much information as possible before you proceed with a modification. As there is strength in numbers, so is there knowledge. Take your time, be organized, be informed..but most of all....be realistic.

Which post was that. I did not delete any posts yesterday. I moved some to the proper forums, but did not delete.
Which post was yours, and what did it contain? _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Hey man, I took a look through Xbox-HQ trash and did find some posts that started from a Bit Torrent thread? Is that the one you are talking about??
Because if another mod/admin/ or site owner trashed that one then everthing with it would have also got trashed... but, it wasn't me who did it so not sure how did. It doesn't say who did the deletion, but it would have had to been a moderator/admin or site owner.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions that need answered and are unsure if it's a posting violation. I'll do my best to help.

so am i not allowed to explain to people what to do with ISO's? since if they ahve an ISO of the game, its prolyl a pirate copy. i think its kinda crap how because X-S censored us that we are caving in to their standards. we're not X-S. utter crap that talking of torrents is now bannable. guess you need to remove all the XDK (or whatever it is) compiled software/apps since they are illegal aswell. i think AID and SID contain illegal materials to. not that i want these things removed but your going hypocritical , and you need to follow your own new rules

Yea.. the BT question... i went to check up on it today to see if there were other "opinions" about how to transfer a game via FTP... so next time... i will not mention anything about a game being d/led or BT's.. i just wasnt sure as what subjects could be mentioned in a topic/question/post..
im not crying about my post being deleted, i just wouldnt want to get myself or the ppl on this great site in trouble because i have a big mouth lol
thanks

we're not carrying into anyones 'standards', we are creating our own. Forahobby has more pressure from MS than you can imagine, so if he would rather us NOT openly discuss certain issues....then we have no choice but to abide by it.
Plus, how could you think ISO's would be a bad thing?? You are legally allowed to make up a backup copy of something you own. So, why couldn't someone own a game that they are making a backup of or creating or dealing with an ISO for
We just cannot have direct links to pirated materials....period. Plus, no advertising for pirated materials.... that's it. I really think you are taking this out of context. If we want to keep this site rolling, then obviously we have to be careful. I am sure forahobby has made you all aware that MS visits us frequently..they are even a VIP .... I'd personally like to give a shout-out to Big Bill!! lol
Anyway, being that I did not can the BT question I don't know what that was about. Maybe whoever nixed it can elaborate, because I dont' know. I was only referring to posts that blatently condone pirating.
Personally, I don't give a rats ass what anyone does with their machines or games. It's none of my business...I'm no angel. But, because I don't own this forum I have to abide by what I am told.
But please....at this time do not think we are buying into anyone elses standards.... we are being forced into certain changes for sure. But nothing different than what we have been doing for the last month or so.
The only posts I have personally deleted were classified that listed games on the HD being included w/o the originals.
