I have tried to softmod using AID but now when it boots it goes to try and update xbox live Its says"XBOX Live is updating your system. Please do not turn off your XBOX" and then fails with the message "XBox live is not responding. Please try again later". Has anyone ever come across this. Last night it would let me play original games and now it just goes straight to the screen mentioned above.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. First softmod and way its going gonna be my last.

Do you have acess to a Splinter Expliot? if you do, and if it will still let you launch retail games. go for that, re=run the expliot and try it that way- but i dont think you can do this can you?

don't worry man everything can be fixed.
ok first we need to know if you can boot with tray open . (softmod menu)
if you can just reinstall dashboard.
if you got eeprom backup you can recreate the hd from scratch using a pc and my tutorial about upgrading a hd .
if you don't have a eeprom backup and you can load to softmod menu or can't load original games you can still fix your xbox using my hotswap tutorial.
Seen hotswap tutorial but it doesnt flash after 8 secs. As soon as micoroft appears at the bottom of the screen it goes straight to the xbox live update screen. Any other way this hotswap technique can be done please let me know.

i used error 21 as exapmle in tutorial
but read what i wrote after the blincking:
