Ok here's the deal:
Right now I have two NIC cards in my computer. One is going to my router -> modem -> wall, and the other goes to XBOX. The one going to the router is using a standard RJ-45 cable and the one going to my XBOX is using a Crossover RJ-45 Cable.
Now, I have my XBOX networked with my NIC with these settings:
1stNIC (Static, not DHCP):
IP: 192.168.0.101
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
XBOX (Static, not DHCP):
IP: 192.168.0.102
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
I can transfer files without a hitch.
I have my second NIC networked with my router with these settings:
I have internet connection sharing enabled and the firewall turned off.
If there are any network gurus out there, please chime in.
Thanks

I'm not a real network expert but shouldn't the gateway be the same for all nics? I have my xbox going directly into my router. My pc still see it over the network. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

No, the gateway doesn't have to be the same for both NICs because only one is connected to the router.
But now that I want my XBOX to use the internet, you would THINK (as you and I did) that the gateways would need to be the same. But as my post says, I've tried that.

What OS are you using? If XP I think you can set up a network to use a host computer to link to the internet. Hopefully some network savy peps will jump in. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

I'm confused. So how do you have something with two gateways going in to one computer with a gateway? I'd like to understand the layout better. I have found that if I have the gateway different, it's nothing but issues. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th
