That sounds like a typical frag. You can probably hear the machine turn on and off two times or so, before it flashes green/red.
Did this person do anything to the machine?? Of course they usually say they don't. I love when I sell a machine and two days later they email me to say that something is wrong with it. When I ask what they did, they are like, 'nothing dude, I just came home and turned it on". Then after I troubleshoot I find that they deleted the bios off the chip or something, which can only happen electronically...meaning they were playing around and wiped it clean...lol. I let them blame it on their dog.
It sounds like you have one or two things happen. First, I'd like to know is how long was this mod stable before you sold it?? Did you have it working for a day, a month, a year?? Like Shark said, how is it modded? YOu ahve to give us quite a bit more info.
If you machine is chipped and the chip was soldered, I'd check to see if the bios is okay. Can you boot the machine without the chip?? If the machine was chipped and a soldereless chip was used, I'd check the alignment of the chip.
If your chip requires an external bank select switch, make sure he's selecting the correct bank, try a different bank and see what you get.
If this is a quick solder chip, after the machine heats up and cools a few times small solder imperfections can come about causing a frag. Simply just hit the points again with your iron and see if all goes well.
As you can see, so many things can cause your exact symptoms. Until we know more about your setup, we won't know which fits best.

Yes, if the chip is the problem it can be reflashed. But, that may not be your problem, I was just throwing an instance out there.
It could be chip placement. Also, how do you know that this person didn't open the box up to look inside and see how it was chipped and scratch something??
If a trace was scratched, it could cause the problem to.
There should be a way for you to narrow down if it is chip related or motherboard related. There should be a way for you to launch the Xbox with the chip disabled.
Meesa Thinks...thatsa good ideasa...
Sorry couldn't resist throwing some Ja Ja Jargon... _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
