Hello,
I have sucessfully softmodded a brand new 1.6b with SID 2.0 & upgraded to a 250 maxtor hd with XBOXHDM. Xbox boots up & everything is running good; Evox dash, games, apps, emulators show up. The hd is locked, etc... The problem I'm having now is that I'm missing 100 gigs??? I want a large F drive, I have disabled the G drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SeaWolf69,
You have to use a little tool called Xbpartitioner, It sets the size of your hdd partitions. I use it all the time when I softmod and works great, download it from the usual places, or get it off of the AID disk. When you have it on your box run the program and at the screen press start, then you will see 2 windows ( one on top of the other ) the top window shows your C: E: X: Y: Z:, the bottom window shows your F:/G: drive. Move the highlighted portion to the bottom screen and press the "A" button untill it shows the top partition in the bottom window at about 240Gigs, then press start to write table and format partition. A screen will pop up asking if you are sure you want to continue, just press the "Y" button to continue and it will Write and Format the partition. Make sure if you have anything loaded on the F: partition that you back it up to your pc first because it will wipe the entire F: clean. Now you will experience the hdd's full capacity.
Hope I could Help...
isn't it just that the bios doesn't support over 137 gigs? and all he would need is a new bios?

Hmmm?,
That is what I thought? I have a x2_4983.06_256k bios that I used for my xenium ice modchipped xbox w/ a 300 gb western digital hd. How do I go about installing it on my softmodded xbox?

Yep,
Neo collection took me awhile, I first started with a Neo Geo Gold Home system w/ Samurai Showdown 2 back in '97. Now I have 6 home carts, MVS 1 slot & 4 slot w/ 12 games, Hyper Neo Geo 64 rev. 2 mb w/ 2 games & a bunch of jamma pcbs. Just picked up a Naomi 2 GD-Rom mb w/ 2 games. Not that I'm rich or anything, it takes me awhile to save up. Tax refund & permanent fund helps out alot too . Ebay is the way to go, I also pick up games from Japan & Hong Kong as well as a few arcade dealers here in the USA. _________________ http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v115/SeaWolf69/DSCN2248.jpg

Ok,
I've been trying to post for a while on this thing but my wireless keeps going out, anyway, You do not need to change your bios!!!
I have been softmodding for a while now and every time I softmod I have used the xbpartitioner, I have never heard of changing the bios of a softmodded xbox, the only way to do that is to TSOP Flash or install a mod chip... and since you have done neither I can't really see a way to change it
I am under the impression thought that the softmod installs a bios on your hdd, and when you boot up your box it tricks it into using the bios on you hdd instead of your origonal xbox bios. Not too sure about this but I think that is what happens. So, if you are able to find where the bios is stored on your hdd then maybe you could change it, but since there is no reason to change the softmod bios because it is allready able to read larger hdd's then why do it.
All you have to do is partition it correctly and you will have no prob's at all.
I finally got around to trying out Xbpartitioner & worked like a charm!! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!! Now I regained the 100+ gigs I was missing. _________________ http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v115/SeaWolf69/DSCN2248.jpg
