hi all, I have a modded 1.3 version xbox with a xecuter 2.3 mod chip installed. I have a buddy that just Soft modded his Xbox. My question is what are the disavantages of having either , or. I know that by doing a soft mod you have save money, but other than that what are the differences. Thanks for the inputs everyone.

a chip allows you to easily turn your mod on and off for playing on Live and some add the ability to add things like lcd screens. and some chips allow you to have more than one bios loaded. other than that.... suppose you could also return a softmod to the store if it should die.

I like softmod because I didn't have to solder anything. Me and a soldering iron are a bad match. Also the risk of being banned on XBL is little I get on all the time. Just restore the ms backup and play then later restore the modded backup. It takes a couple minutes to do no biggie.
