i want to restart my softmod by preparing my 250 gb hdd with the extreme basics that only a retail hdd would have. please list the correct directories/files i should keep for my backups to transfer to my new hard drive thru xbox hard drive manager. _________________ XBOX v1.6:

I doubt that you will get someone right away that will take the time to write every single file and directory in a stock machine.. that's a lot of stuff to go through.
I'm not sure on everyone eleses schedule, but if I get some time tomorrow while I am chipping machine, as I have three I have to do tomorrow, I will hurry up and do some copying and pasting if I can... In the stock HD you only have your
C: E:, then of course your X, Y, Z.. but those are just cache partitions and don't hold anything that you have to emulate..
Your C has your dash files, your E is relatively basic. You should have two folders. UDATA and TDATA
But, the C has an abundance of files...maybe only a handful of folders but a good bit of files in them.
You can always download the AID, extract the files from the .iso and take a gander at them yourself if someone can't get back to you quick enough

no problem..I think all you would need to do is just extract the MS Dash from the AID and you can see all of the directories.. I would hope you can just do that... I'm almost positive.
