I sent you a dvd-r... you should be getting any day... you should have no problems with it...
Dude, I felt the same way the first week I got my mod.
Modding isn't as easy as people think...this is not an exact science... MS makes it as difficult as possible to mod a machine. There are times I have a DVD+R and it works on one machine that has a Phillips drive and then the next machine it doesnt.
Also, you can't blame the chip manufactures for your lack of preperation... before you purchased a mod chip you should have read forums and seen all the questions people were asking. You would have seen that at least two to three posts every other day was from a person having difficulty in getting a disk to read..
Plus, the chip manufactures didnt design the phillips drive, so you can't sneer at them because the brand of disk you purchased isn't supported by your drives firmware.
Chill out..take a deep one bud. It's only a game....system. Once you get my DVD-R that I shipped you, all should be well again in the world...lol.
Hang in there, it's just around the corner I'm sure. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Also, Phillips does read CDR-Ws... probably just not the brand you purchased.. And, you don't have to spend 100s of dollars. But, you do have to have the proper setup and tools to get your machine going. For instance, if you had a home network (router) you would be able to FTP files to your HD instead of using an installer...granted the installer is the easiest way to do it, but there are many options you have.
Don't think that we don't understand your frustration. We have all been in your shoes. When I did my first mod back in April of 2004 after one week I put the machine up for sale on Ebay. I was so frustrated. I couldn't get emulators to work, I couldn't get my menu to work right in Evox, my .ini file was all goobered up. Thank god that Ebay took my auction down... I didnt know you werent allowed to sell xbox's with mod chips at that time on Ebay.
I found this site about a week after I got my machine.....and well, the rest is history. If it wasn't for ebay jilting my auction, and me finding this site, I woudl not ever have even bothered with a mod ever again... that's how frustrated I am..
Now a year later and Bill Gates sends me Xmas cards....lol.
Anyway, my point is.... just hang in there. Once my disk gets to you all will be okay. I know that your phillips will read my installer disk. I am certain of it. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

no, it is the x3 bios, X3 Config Live, do you have an x3 or am I incorrect.
Well i just looked at your sig so you must have one, anyways, on your backup chip (eject + power) startup, go to flash via network, use the ip it automatically gives you or the one you setup (ie. a static ip address).
Type the necessary info into your FlashFXP for connecting to other connections.. _________________ XBOX v1.6

don`t get me wrong but, you wouldn`t pull your bmw apart if
you didn`t know a thing about cars, to try dialing in your cam`s and
if you did you should at least expect not to be driving it to work
the next day.
The best thing about the phillips dvd drive is the fact that it
does play phillips cd`s (bit obvious really)
the only trouble with installer disc`s is they`re not that easy to
figure out how to burn and to what disc depending on your drive,
If you try using ftp (if you`re gonna be transferring lots of stuff
then this is a lot quicker) then you save discs, you`ll save money
and your dvd drive doesn`t care what brand of x-over cable
your using.
there are many tutorials on how to ftp,
The one i used ages ago (when i was learning how) kept going
on about configuring your nic, i couldn`t find anything on my
pc called a nic, it was only till i went to buy one that i
found out that i did have one all along ( if only that tut had called
it a network interface card, then the xbox i had may still be alive
today!) , That was before i found Xbox-hq of course,
