ok well, i have 2 hds. 1 is the original, one is an all zeroed maxtor. while trying to install the maztor, i reformatted the original xbox hd and installed the new dash to the e partition but nothing is now on the c and i belive this is the reason it wont boot up. ive tried raboo's evox installer boot disk which claims it can recover but it doesnt work. any ideas?

trouble is with out an ms dash or a softmodded ms dash on your c, a softmodded xbox won`t boot
at all. I know this can be recoverd if you have another Chipped/tsop`d xbox that you can copy the eeprom to (provided you backed it up)
then you will be able to boot the blank locked hdd using a boot cd

only one box, all my friends have live. i have a chip but it isnt installed in my box. i was hoping there was dif cd or some way to do it through pc. no way to make it read the e or switch it over?

technically, if i got my chip to work, it would boot to that and i woundnt need the hd to function to boot, right? i have a xenium ice but ive tried for a very long time to get it to work and it hasnt. v1.0 box and if the chip booted, i believe there are hd formatting options on there. if this is all true, and will fix my box, im gunna get crackin with the solder cause im tired of the solderless adaptor and i belive its the reason my chip wont work. will someone please confirm all this? i dont want to lay down the gun if i dont have to...
