i've done the softmod and now want to install slayer evox2.6
i have slayer burned on a cdrom, however it doesn't load automatically when i put it in.
how can i install slayer from the cd?

I think your problem is with media..Use a CD-RW..The best way is to use a Dvd-R.. _________________ Xbox v1.3

i decided to go with auto-installer deluxe as slayer doesn't support softmods.
now that i have the evox dashboard installed from the softmod installer i am trying to install the auto-installer. however, the dvd-r and cd-r won't load up in the xbox. so i used DVD2XBOX to copy the auto-installer iso to my E drive. now i'm trying to figure out how i can run the auto-installer....???

What is it that you want to do with the auto-installer? It may sound like a stupid question but would hate to see you get into any trouble. _________________ Xbox v1.3

the autoinstaller provides the full evox dash/avalaunch/unleashx, all the emulators and xbmc as well as a host of other tools which i don't think i will be using aside from the file manager and ftp prog.
the dash that comes with the softmod installed is pretty bare and only includes two applications. xbmc would be the #1 reason why i want to get the autoinstaller working...

That will not work, as the config file has the paths for all the files hard-coded to look for the D Drive.
If you wanted to do this, you'll have to edit the config.xml file like so:
Do a "Search & Replace" to find D:\ then replace it with where you have installed it ie: E:\Apps\AID2

Also, the softmod support in AID v1.01 isn't that great at all, and I'd suggest NOT to use the option to install the dashboards for a softmodded machine, as this sets up the dash in the wrong place for my newer softmod installers.
You'll have to install the dashboard normally (no special softmod version) and everything should be fine. Then, go into the config file your dashboard and look for "xboxdash.xbe", make sure you change this to "msdash.xbe" so that the softmodded MS dash can be shown.
