I've heard two that you can't buy a chip that you don't have to flash the bios yourself, we can thank the law for that, and that the DuoX2 (blue) doesn't need flashing because its preflashed. can anyone clear this up for me because i want to download all prog's that i need to before mine comes.

Hi Tr1gg3r_M4n,
Most modchips do come pre-flashed BUT NOT with the bios you want..
You are right saying that no one ships modchips with hacked bioses alreayd flashed as it is ILLEGAL in most if not ALL countries..
So, Im guessing your duox may have the Cromwell bios flashed on it when its shipping. The Cromwell is a LEGAL bios which allows your xbox to boot xbox linux.. If it does come flashed with the cromwell then it will startup asking for a bios cd..
I would suggest downloading the latest M8 bios or the XBOXHQ Bios CD Pack made by djb.. It will have everything you need..
Then just flash your mod and you can use the AUTO INSTALLER DELUXE to install all your dashboards, emulators and other apps. (over 50+)..

Yeh, you may struggle getting the blue duox2 in the uk nowadays, and the bios on it does not support larger than 137GB hard drives, so you may well have to flash it anyway. And if you have a 1.6 and flash it badly then the chip is then useless to you, however with the cromwell you can boot both banks on a 1.6., mess one up, flip the switch and flash that bank instead
