I have soft modded a couple xbox's (not difficult) anyways I wasn't really paying attention and I went to restore MS dash so I could go on live. But I accidently went to create MS backup, I pressed the button twice and realized what I did. I just overwrote my MS backup with basically a softmod backup (I think). Now when I start my xbox with dvd tray open it takes me straight to trying to update using xbox live, I will press O.K and it doesn't do anything(I can just keep pressing, but and it keeps trying to update) I don't have my ethernet cord plugged in. When I power up with tray closed and official xbox game in, the game will load. When I power up with burned game , it just takes me to the update screen(like its not even detecting a disc). I'm scared to let xbox update fearing I will lose my xbox privilages. I just bought this xbox less than a week ago. Maybe the xbox is fine but I'm not sure???

Is there any way to just back track and make it so you never even installed the soft mod (without MS backup) Any advice, Ideas, and/or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

once you over wrote it its gone man. That sucks lol oo well thats why we're , too help you out. Ok if you can boot from a game do it. Then restore / reinstall the mod. Then restart the box. With the mod on (either UX or EvoX dash) load up an auto-installer disc. Once that boots, go to c drive, format it, reinstall the msdash, then restart the box. Try using your exploiting game, load the SID menu and then click create M$ backup, and you should be good to go again! If you got any questions shoot me a PM
