My buddy in Michigan just got a Mountain Dew box over spring break for free in a raffle! They gave away a bunch for free, but were on sale for $149. There is some Xbox/Mountain dew 'Game Live Tour' sponsored by MD & EB games. Check to see if your area is going to be visited

well, if anyone can pick one of these up for $149, dont walk...RUN and grab as many as you can...
You can sell these on Ebay for over $300.00!!
I don't see any mention of raffling, nor purchasing, but Penn State is only about an hour away from my house so I will be sure to check that puppy out on April 9th.
Has anyone else went to these events?? Very curious to know how many they sell at $149! Especially for such an extremely limited console..
I took the liberty to contact gamelive events to see if we could post all of the information such as, how many units they are selling at these events, and how many they are raffling. This way people wont travel to areas just for the chance at getting one of these machines if they aren't selling or raffling them at each location.
Heres the info on the machines that were made for contests only:

I am not sure how limited they are... 25 colleges getting 100's or 1000's would blow the 2,000 figure away!
Anyone interested could also try EB Games, since they are sponsoring the tour _________________ LED Rings $6 (doesnt include LEDs) LED ring pic

The 2000 figure that I mentioned was for the ones produced for the points giveaway. That was back in first quarter 2004. The event you posted is a current event.
Since your buddy got one in a raffle, and saw them selling for $149.00 I am hoping there are now more available as the first 2000 back in 2004 are obviously already accounted for.
Hopefully I'll have a reply back from marketing@gameliveevents.com with some figures so those who travel to the dates that you listed won't get disappointed if there are is only a slight chance of purchasing one of these machines. After all, $149 for a LE console is an incredible deal. The one I just bought from the 2004 campaign cost me almost $300.00 _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Actually, the 1.6 mobo and PS sell for more than the 1.0-1.5's do.
But, if this is anything like the new Halo2 Machines that have just been sold in Canada, then they are 1.4's anyway.
Since the Mt. Dew machine was produced back in early 2004, maybe even late 2003 to get ready for the contests maybe they didn't distribute all 2000 of them in the contests like stated. Thinking that they may have also produced extra machines for future events, like the one being held now.
The 1.6 mobo didn't start surfacing until July 2004 and later. The new Halo 2 bundle machines actually have a 04-2004 manufacture date on the bottoms and have the Focus chip, which is good news for those who have 1.6 fears.
If I were him, I wouldn't open the machine either, but he can look through the opening where the serial number and date are and find the manufacture date. If you could get that and list it, we would know if they did indeed produce new machines or if these are just left overs from early 2004. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Hey is there anyone from PA planning on attending this event!?!
If so, let me know because this looks like an awesome time! I think we can make a night out of it.
Since it's not over until 2AM it will definitley be an overnight thing. I was thinking that it could be a great opportunity for a lot of our members to get together in different parts of the country and do some gaming. I'm still waiting for the return email in regard to the hardware that will or will not be offered at these events, but none-the-less from what I have read about this event it's pretty cool
I'll make sure that I post the reply I get from the marketing department so we all know if we should bring an extra $149.00 too. If anyone is wanting to go to this, PM me and let's figure out a place to meet so we can hookup.

Just got the return email back from game live events. There are, nore were ever any Mt. Dew boxes for retail purchase, but, they did say that they are raffling some off so there is a chance to get one if anyone wants to attend the event.
I have had a few ppl PM me in regard to the one here in State College on the 9th so we are going to give it a whirl.
Maybe others in each area can coordinate a get together. It should be a blast, and who knows, you may end up with a brand new Mt. Dew Machine!! They are so ugly they're beautiful...lol.
Did you find out what the manufacture date of your buddies machine is?? I am curious to know if they made more or if these are on of the original 2000 made... _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
