Was looking at buying a modded Xbox from the web and wanted to know if it is able to network to a server for games and movies. So I want to set the box up as a media center type machine/ gaming machine. IF you have an idea of what user interface I need or chip to look for in the XBox.
Thanks

not sure what you mean. if you have a modded xbox you can hook it up to your pc with a router. you can transfer games and movies and a lot more and you can watch movies music pictures on your xbox. _________________ XBOX

If you chip your machine there is a lot you can do with it. Espeically if you unleash Xbox Media Center and use it to it's fullest capabilities.
My experience with software isn't all that great, I am always stuck doing hardware so I dont get to play with the apps all that much. But, I know that people do amazing things with XBMC.
Good luck, I am sure others will post what they do with XBMC software.

Also, if you only really wanted Xbox -> PC Connectivity and didn't really care too much about a larger HDD you could always softmod your xbox.

Ya I was more interested in streaming music and DVD's thru the Xbox. I'll search the forums for more info on the XboxMC. I don't own a Xbox currently and was looking at what to purchase in order to use the box as a media interface. I still need some good references of people who sell quality Xbox machines for my application.

Even with the Xbox Media Center PC Extender Kit through MS you cannot stream DVDs
That's the biggest complaint of the Media Center Extender Kits. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
