I had someone mod my box awhile ago and they TSOPed it. So When I boot it says Executer2 or something under the X boot thing. I had an 80 gig that worked fine and I just put a 250 gig in it, however it claims it only has 130 gig give or take a few gigs. So I read on the forums you need to use a bios that supports a bigger HD. How do I do this? Can I even do this with a TSOP mod? I have a Duo-X2 chip that I could install but I'd rather avoid that seeing as my soldering skills leave something to be desired. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you can reflash your tsop ,thats not a problem ,

you need to find out which xbox version you got and the manufacturer of your tsop

you will need to use bios size of 1mb if you have a xbox version 1.0-1.1
or a 256kb bios if you have a version 1.2-1.5

you can reflash the tsop with the autoinstaller if you have any tsop except winbond , if you have a winbond tsop you will need to use an app like raincoat and flash it through telnet ,

ive done it many times , if you cant figure it out send me a messege and well get on a msn or yahoo chat and ill tell you what you need to do ,

also use bios x2 4983.06 or .67 if you want the space to be divided between f:\ and g:\ partition

hopefully the person that did it for you left the points on the motherboard bridged that way you wont have to solder anything

It seems the problem he has is the bios that was flashed to his TSOP doesn't have the LBA48 hack...at least that's what I am getting out of what he is describing.

Because if it has the LBA48 hack then it would most likely put all of the storage on the F partition if he only formatted for 6 partitions.

You need to determine a few things if you want to reflash the TSOP. You need to find your version mobo, what tsop you have...etc...

Then, look at your points that are supposed to be bridged. If so, you are in luck and can very very easily reflash your tsop. Find something called MechEurasia. It's an awesome tool. Then get the original MechAssault game. MechEurasia has both the mech and 007 hacks. And, you can add whatever bios you want to it, just like 'bobrownik' suggested.

Just FTP the files from the mecheurasia to the proper folder and run the original mechassault game. Not the platinum hit. From there you select campaign, then run linux. The rest is very easy. Let us know if you need a tutorial.

Thanks for all the help. The first guy and I went through this for about an hour and after a million close ups of my mobo he determined that the only way it can be fixed is wih a solderless chip. THe person who tsoped it screwed up the mobo and fixed it with wires and such. I think he ripped a trace or two, I don't know. So everything is all screwy, but thanks!
