hey can someone explain this? my friends xbox didnt work so i formatted the drive and installed the ms dash. i then took the chip back out and the ms dash still doesnt work. keeps giving me error 21. does that mean the hdd is totally fucked? _________________ XBOX

No, this means you need a different kernel. The chip doesn't care, but the bios does.

goddamn it. do you know anywhere i can get this. im not sure what version xbox it is. it has a fan on the processor so its one of the older ones. the manufacturing date is 9/11 (freaky) 2002. it had a thomson dvd drive. _________________ XBOX

if it has a fan then its 1.0 ,
just look on the motherboard and find a sticker that sais what kernel version it is ,
anyone who mods a lot of xboxes can get it for you ,
im in the process of moving and im not modding at a time and dont have access to my computer so i cant get it for you ,
