Okay, someone bought a HD from me off an auction. I am configuring it for them and they are asking something of me that just doesn't make sense.
He asked me if I could do a multi swich configuration for him so he could have differnt dashboards to choose from...
I told him, that he was only buying a HD from me and wanted him to clarify what h e meant. I asked him, "do you mean you just want me to install two dashboards, maybe one on C and one on F so you can use different bios' to boot. At the time, I had no idea what chip he was using, but ws thinking it was a X3. He responded with this:
Quote:
No. You can set the bank switch on "config live" if you have it. and then you can do a back up flash. Do a back up flash, and just flash the current drive..
It sounds like he think that you flash the HD...lol. I mean, I have only been installing X3's for a few installs now...but you always flash a mod chip with the bios..how can I set the bank switch when I AM ONLY SELLING A HD?? What does he mean by, "Flashing the current drive"?
Is there some feature of the x3 that I haven't discovered yet? I will never claim to know it all, but it just sounds like either hes a little back asswards or there is a kick ass feature and the X3 flashes HDs now...lol.
I told him that he could put Evox on C and unleash on F and if he insists on flashing two banks, he can flash 3029 to one 1mb bank and then again to the other 1mb bank and then just configure each one to do whatever it is he wants. Then, if he is in the mood for Evox he boots this bank, if he's in the mood for unleash, he boots the other bank..
I just dont want to give someone wrong info if I am not realizing that there is something else that can be done.

There must be a feature I never heard of with the x3. He will have to flash the chip.
The only thing he is going to get is a quick boot assigned to a button on the controller.. Even if he puts two x3 bios on the chip, the x3 live will keep the same settings for both bios. I have two bios on mine and that is for that just in case factor.
But I do agree with the guy being back asswards. _________________ Xbox v1.3

No, he was all discombobulated. He thought that the HD held the flashes.
I kinda figured that was it. Basically, he was badking up bioses/flashes on his HD and thought that I could just flash his HD for him...lol. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something...lol. When I told him he could easily just install one dash to C, and a different one to F, and then just change what boots where, or actually flash two bioses to the chip and boot whatever he wants with the switch, you could actually hear the lightbulb turn on above his head..lol.
