I have a problem. I forgot to make a backup of the C drive. How do I remove the softmod and restore my XBOX to it's factory conditions? I want to play on XBOX Live for a while since I have a free trial. I will install the softmod again later. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Do you still have the softmod installed? If you do load up AID and format the C drive then install the M$ Dash. That should fix your problem.

I don't see where to format the C drive. Just like when I installed the softmod, there wasn't an option to backup the C Drive. My Xbox is version 1.0 if that matters.

download the Auto Installer Deluxe
Burn it, pop that into the drive, load it up
you'll see many options
Format C and then dont restart or anything
Go to Install Micrososft Dashboard
Once done, remove disc and restart
you should be fine _________________

if you know someone else who has an xbox you could do what I did to resusitate my xbox, slightly slow but definitely works, ftp the entire contents of their drive to your pc, then ftp it to your xbox that has problems,

Hey,
If you want i could burn the original MS dash onto a disk and send it to you- just give me your adress and such. Then FTP over to your Xbox, get into the C drive, Delete everything in there- then transfer all of the contents of the MS dash into it. Yep, i have back up's of working dash's (Retail, Evox, and Unleash X) If anyone needs a back up- just PM me.....
