I have a 30 gig hd that I took out of my old mod chipped xbox. Can I put it in my softmodded xbox as if it was chipped? meaning , can I just boot it up with my slayers disk in and go from there? The drive has 12 games on it and a bunch of apps like xbmc,xbmp, ph hard drive loader, emulators, ect... My old box was chipped with an apple V mod chip.

Hi,

It's not so easy with a soft mod as the drive has to be locked to work, but you can't lock it in another xbox without changing some details. See link.

Otherwise you could try using Chimp.

would it not make more sense to go
buy a bigger hdd first?
It's a lot of hassle for such a
small drive. on the other hand though
if you have a soft modded and a
chipped xbox it is real simple
to just copy the entire contents
of your softmod box to your 30 gig
hdd the only thing is getting
the hdd key right.

a TSOP flash would be a help for
you too as that way you could
boot your unlocked 30 gig or
any other xbox hdd with a alt
dash on it.
