keeps saying error file doesn't fit :(

you need to flash the chip with the bios not with the dashboard ,
if u have v1.6xbox then use evox m8plus16 bios .
if u have 1.0 to 1.5 then use evox m8 or xecuter2 4983.06 or ind bioses _________________ Xbox v1.0/1.1/1.5/1.6a

Evolution X is a file that gets copied to your hard drive. Basically, the first thing you need to do with your Xenium Ice is flash it with a bios.
Give me a little more info, what version Xbox do you have.
What bios' if any have you downloaded.
What size hard drive are you going to install, or are you running with the stock hard drive.

I have not been able to flash a bios at all I have a version 1.0 xbox and I have downloaded the evolution x and cromwell bioses. as for the hard drive I installed one that is 120 gb. This brings me to my second problem everything on my old hard drive transfered except xbox live related info when I reconnected the old drive live worked again

before you do anything, if you havent downloaded the iceguide,do so @ http://www.teamxodus.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=13 it will tell you step by step what to do, use the xecuter bios or M8 you dont need cromwell and i think if you go on live with a diff. hard drive you will get banned _________________ XBOX ver.1

Flashing the Xenium Ice chip is one of the easiest tasks...we just have to get you having the right files and methods.
Firstly, what you should have already done was assigned the TSOP and tested to make sure you can launch the MS Dash with the stock hard drive. Typically, I recommend that you flash your mod chip with the original HD present. This eliminates any HD errors.
First, at the XOS menu select Lauch Items.
Select Add Item.
Select TSOP.
It will be named retail kernel. Just leave it that way. Next select a color you want the Xenium Ice LED to be when you launch the MS Bios (retail kernel)
Now to flash your mod chip with a hacked bios.
I recommend Xecuter2 4983 bios.
You will want to create a bios CD unless you have your Xbox connected to a network. If so, feel free to flash it via HTTP and use my tutorial.
Otherwise, create a dummy file. A dummy file is a file that you are going to burn onto your bios CD to assist the Xbox DVD Drive in finding data. You are going to flash a 256k bios to your Xenium Ice. So please, make sure you have the correct bios.
Now, open Nero Burning Rom.
You are going to be creating and burning and .ISO to DVD-R for best success.
If you do not know the correct .iso settings let me know and I'll dig you up some info. Basic stuff: just don't select multi-session and burn the iso at a slower speed and you will be okay.
Basically, go ahead and put your dummy file and X2 4983 bios.bin file into the compliation window and then click the matchstick icon to burn the bios CD. Next click burn.
When it's done, put it in your Xbox DVD Tray. Now, at the Xenium Ice menu select "Launch Items". Next select, "Add Item".
Next select FLASH not TSOP this time.
You should get a list of drives. If "D" drive is not there, then your disk isn't being read. Either because of the brand/media or the way you created it.
If D is there, select it. From the list, select your bios.bin file and press A
You will now get the typewriter thing again to name the bios. Name it whatever you want. Next select the color you want to use for when that bios is active.
That's it.
