Hi,

I was wondering does the softmod change anything in the eeprom/bios?
I thought it only changes files on the c drive.

If softmod does change the bios how can i make a copy of it before i do the softmod.

Thanx

SID don't touch the eeprom or bios of your Xbox!
But the internal bios (TSOP) is "read only", the eeprom is rewritable!

I've an "erased" eeprom (blank, all "00") after a SID installation, but with the eeprom backup then all is possible Razz

My suggestion for all: before apply softmod with SID you must backup your Xbox eeprom to your pc, just for security... follow this step:

- start the SID exploit inside your game (i use MA)
- when unleashX dash is loaded connect the Xbox via ftp (192.168.0.2)
- copy in "E:\" the Evox dashboard via ftp (make a dir for this, like "E:\Evox")
- launch the Evox dashboard (the xbe) with the "FILE MANAGER" (on SID menu select "FILE MANAGER" and go to the EvoX dir, click over the xbe)
- when Evox is started go to "SETTING", "BACKUP" and backup your Xbox eeprom and bios
- now copy the folder "E:\Evox\Backup" to your pc via ftp (inside this dir you can see the eeprom.bin and the bios.bin)
- restart the Xbox, the game for the exploit and load the SID exploit
- now you can apply softmod with SID (follow DJB instructions for this) and good luck

With the "eeprom.bin" file in your hands you can unlock and lock the Xbox hard disk in your pc and... the rest is history Smile
