ok , ive connected to the xbox via HTTP and flashed it with X3 3294.bin and the Xbox turns itself off. ok Fine.. I then press the power button quickly, and the xbox powers on for a second.. then automatically powers off, on again.. then off again.. then it comes on and stays on.. without bringing up anything on the screen. .. any ideas?

Make sure pins 13 and 14 are properly soldered. I thought mine might have been perfect, but they weren't and those are crucial pins for the X3 in the xbox., Also I hope you have a x3 flashing an x3 bios to it, you didn't specify.
Also, make sure you flashed the proper bank. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Okay, much better..I can dig that question..lol.
Basically, you are done doing anything to the chip. What needs to be done now is to load the HD with any applications that you wish to have.
If you are still using the stock HD, you will be limited in what you can put on it. You only have so many avialable GB to work with.
However, if you are workign with a larger HD your options are much much more open.
I would suggest nixing the FTP'ing notion and just get your hands on an autoinstaller.
Of any AI that is out there I suggest AID 2.0 (Autoinstaller Deluxe version 2).
What this will do for you is short of a miracle. If you have a blank HD this will format your drive, prepare the drive, load your MS dash, EvoX dash, UnleashX dash, MXM dash, or Avalaunch Dash. It will also install all of your apps that you need to either save games to the HD, launch dvd movies without the dongle/remote kit, allow you to play DivX movies, MP3,s, manipulate Halo maps..etc..etc...
The AI does all of this for you in about twenty minutes tops!
FTP'ing a dash isn't as straight forward as it sounds. The AI will prepare the dashboard to work with your file structure. Otherwise, you will most likely have to edit the dashboards .ini file to reflect your setup. Something that in over a year of modding I just refused to do...lol. I am forever in debt to the wonderful autoinstallers that DJB and company have produced!! You will thank me a million times over if you use one.

For the FTP, you need to specify whether your network (static ip or DHCP router) and if you are just doing ad hoc or what. Its all in the x3 settings.
The user/pass is X3/X3. Std. Port 21. There have been caching issues with the FTP and the latest bioses, so if it stalls, give it a second, its trying to recoop. Stupid, but it was even worse with my old WS FTP Pro.
I actually run Filezilla now, and use the ftp server built into XBMC. Its a filezilla server derivitive. _________________ XBOX v1.6
