I noticed shortly after installing my modchip that my flat mate had managed to get a decent enough score on DOA or something to change the name of my Xbox to his name. It didn't bother me much but last night I decided I would change it by editing the NICKNAME.XBN file.
I ftp'd to my Xbox only to find that NICKNAME.XBN was a 0Kb file. Somewhere along the line it's been corrupted. I haven't actually tried anything to see what it thinks the name of my Xbox is but I was wondering if you guys knew of any way to repair or rebuild my NICKNAME.XBN file.
What other info is stored in there apart from the name of you Xbox? Could I just delete it and it will get built again using the DOA method?

Do you know if this name is used as the netbios name? I tried using my xbox with DHCP, but in the DHCP server table it comes up as not having a name. My file is also 0 bytes.
