i'm not really new to the site, been trolling around for about a month now, figured it was time to join up and ask a question. i just bought a duox2 chip. i cleaned lpc holes and was going to install but my friend's soldering iron was too big for the job. i put everything back together and now have no power. can anyone help? if i can't find a smaller iron i am going to order the adapter and use that.

Hi and welcome to HQ!

By the sounds of it you didnt do any work on the motherboard because the soldiering iron was too big.. Smile

Just go over all the cables on the xbox mainboard..
Double check each and everyone and then retry again.

hope that helps

cheers,

If this was a 1.6 machine the standby resistor could have blown. Not sure what version Xbox you were using, but in the 1.6's the resistor is very low tolerance, and just removing the mobo or tinkering can blow it.
