That is probably the most frequently made mistake, 'not having the switch configured right according to the bios size you are flashing'. Like I mentioned in a previous post, I see that a lot.
I also see that even with the correct bios size and correct switch configuration that flashes still are failing on this chip. Been there done that too.

i'm looking on the long game side of things, had it worked 1st time with no probs i would not know as much about the Xbox and moding as i know know - thats not to say i UNDERSTAND what i know or how to use that knowledge:lol:

Glad you got your X3 flashed. Now with the new 2913 bios this chip really rox. I have installed a ton of them and yup.. on the first try I used the wrong sized bios. I have actually found that using the http method of flashing the X3 works as well if not better than the cd or ftp. Not sure why but it does.

hi gtgene, flashing by network was the only option for me as the dear olf thomson drive refussed to read anything
