I got Xecuter 3 in my 1.6b and love it. You can flash from cd,http,or hd
and the abilities of this chip to customize your box is terrific.

Ha..yes, you will.
I remember my first LPC rebuild. I was so scared! I thought for sure I was going to screw something up. Plus, I got a mobo that had about four coats of that friggin lacquer they use... man it was a nightmare. Took me about an hour just to solder five stinking wires!! _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Hi. I'm new as well. I just got my premod xbox. V1.6b, Xenium Ice. What is a SmartXX LPC Rebuild PCB? since my chip is already installed can i get one? what does it do?
can anyone suggest a good Bios to use with what I have? I've tried a few but have been experiencing stability issues, I've tried several different Evox M8 versions. can someone please point me in the right direction?

The LPC rebuild board is something that helps the install of a mod chip on the 1.6/1.6b go alot smoother. If your box is modded you don't need one. You really don't need one at all, but if anyone is looking to put a mod chip in a 1.6/1.6b, it will make the install MUCH easier.
Here is a quote from EVOX about the bios:
"* M8plus_16.BIN is also based on the 5838 kernel and has the same features as M7. It will ONLY work on XBOX version 1.6 and 1.6B" _________________ Xbox Version 1.6

ok, you said that the SmartXX was one of the best chips available? is it possible to swap modchips? Could i purchase a SmartXX and then just click it into my xbox where the Xenium Ice chip is installed? or do i need to get a whole new system? Can I remove my Xenium and then install a SmartXX instead?
I'm havin' problems with my xenium and am lookin' to possibly replace it with a different chip.
Also, what is the switch on the front LED on my Xenium Ice for? All it seems to do is adjust the brightness of the LED, is that all it does?
What about with the LPC Rebuild? with that installed are there any wires to solder to the chip or anything?

I have a 1.6 xbox with the X3 chip, also have a spare chip for my buddies if they need one. I also had a 1.1 with a Xenium, nothing against it but overall I love my x3, I gave the xenium xbox to my brother. _________________ Death is certain, Life is not.

No one said that man. Actually if you look at MG's and my sig, you'll see we are both using the ICE chip.

NO - NO - YES - LOL
Dedending on how the ICE was installed, you may be able to just unplug it. The SMARTxx will have at least one wire to soldier, again depending on how it was installed. I don't think you need a new system. You can switch chips, but I doubt you need to do this. What you need to do is explain you problem(s), with as much detail as you can. There is a good chance someone here can help you.

I'm guesing you are looking at this:
This is not your mod chip. It is a little extra that comes with an ICE chip. It is basicly a remote multi-color LED. The ICE chip is inside your Xbox attached to the Mother Board. It does have a switch on it, but I don't think it does anything. I thought it was a "may be used later" type thing, but I'm not sure of that. _________________ Xbox Version 1.6

yeah, that's what i was looking at, the picture. The one on the chip is a recovery mode switch i believe.
My chip doesn't have a lpc rebuild, it's just a few wires soldered onto the board. i'll see if i can get a pic of it.

The LPC Rebuild Board would be located under the mother board, you have to remove the MB to see it. Not that it matters much. On a 1.6 or 1.6b Xbox, the LPC has to be rebuilt. It can be done with either 5 little wires or the Rebuild Board. Both ways give you the same final result, a working mod. Using the board just makes the install much eaiser. _________________ Xbox Version 1.6

aright. thanks. Does anyone know where i can get more of the led modules in Canada? I want to add some more to my xbox, and this way they'll all match.
I'm not sure if my problem is solved yet. I flashed a new Bios (M8+) after changing it with Evtool. It says that it has Lba48? support. I haven't tested that yet as i returned my 160Gb hdd. So far i haven't had any problems with this new Bios. Thanks for the advice.

I would think anyone who sells the ICE chip would sell them. My best advice would be to try Xenium Official Resellers. The list from their site is HERE _________________ Xbox Version 1.6
