I was wondering if anybody has tried to mod old nes, snes, n64 controllers to work with roms. If so is there instructions anywhere. I would think it would just be converting connecters to ps2 but before I try it I was wondering if anybody else has any experience. _________________ XBOX v1.1:

i found a good way to do it before
just solder a female controler port
to the tracks that lead to your buttons
on the joypad buttons
then you can hide it in memory card
slot 2 if it fits
i did this with my pad using a neo
geo socket, the controler cables are easy
to get and wire into any pad you want.

Blighty might have an idea. As far as I know for hooking it str8 to the console I’m not so sure that would work.
Your Keyboard has an "Encoder" that converts the buttons you push into a serial binary signal. An Xbox controller works just like that seeing the interface is basically a funny shaped USB interface.
I’m not sure if they used an encoder on an NES controller (I wouldn’t want to mod my NES stuff anyway) but I’m willing to bet the N64 uses one.
Let Blighty clarify, he seems to be headed in the right direction.
Also, I went over to a friends house the other night and he bought a special edition PS2 fighting game (you know how our old skool 2D fighters are coming back in style). I forgot what game it was though. It came with a special old skool controller. I was thinking that this controller could be hooked up to a PS2->Xbox controller converter (I’ve seen them at Wal-Mart).
