I have an unmodded xbox 1.0 version. It now attempts to load three times then frags and gives no video signal and a red light flashing. I have read on some website that this error is called the christmas light error.
Does anybody have any idea of how to fix this problem?

you can take it apart and maje sure that any cables didnt get loose ,
but it usually means that there is a problem with your bios or your eeprom , so there is not much you can do ,
i would put a chip on it to bypass the tsop and see if that fixes it ,

I'm assuming you have a softmod, so i'd suggest you go try posting this in the SoftMod forum, where someone like Sjohn (the softmodding master) would be able to help you out. I have not a clue on soft mods. _________________ Brandon Cossette

Bcosset: This one is not a softmodded one, it is stock as I intended to use it only for xbox live.
Bobbrownik I will try your suggestion, will let you guys know what happens. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know.
One question if I get a chip will I still be able to get the Xbox eeprom so that I can use the xbox or any other of the ones I have on xbox live? _________________ 2 Xbox V 1.0

if that xbox never been on live then you should be able to ,
thats if you dont mess up and get on with hacked bios ,

Its a version 1 and it has been around since the beginning. I"m not sure if it can be exchanged. Do you think it is possible? Without paying big M? I have heard that their repairs are more expensive than buying a new one. _________________ 2 Xbox V 1.0

if the xbox is unopened throw it in a xbox box (you still got one right? ) and take it to Wal-mart. tell them you got it for x-mas and start crying. they will take it back. just cause a scene. i exchanegd mine twice before i ever opened up an xbox.
hehe i exchanged one once a LONG time ago and didn't even bother to put the cables and controller back in the box. haha i jsut waited until one day their was an old lady workign the exchange desk

i know someone who blew up their
psu, so they went to woolys and bought
a brand new xbox opened it up and swapped
the new psu and the samsung dvd that
it was sporting for the duff psu and
and thompson dvd
TOOK the opened xbox back and got
a full refund
Thats the way to do it!
