Firstly, it if's a zipped iso you need to unzip it and extract the files from the .iso so you can FTP to your machine. ISO's get burned to disk, then you would be able to play off of a disk, so you would just unzip and burn.

But, if you want to install on HD it's a two step process.

Use a program like WinRar to unzip

Use a program like CXboxtool2 to extract .ISO

Also, the reason why it probably wasn't FTP'ing the file is because the name of the file is too long, but that's okay cuz it wouldn't have worked anyway

if the file you got ends in .iso you have the game and it don't need unzipping. it just has the same image as a zip file. (in my case .iso's look like RAR files) so if this is the case and you have an iso sitting on your computer you can do 2 things with it. either burn it to a dvd or send it to the xbox hdd. easiest way to send it to the xbox would be to use the program Qwix. and click load iso on the left. then load iso in the top menu bar. select the iso you wanna transfer ( you can select multiple iso's and do a batch transfer). and then just click FTP upload all. and it will extract and upload the iso's to the xbox.

I was assuming he was downloading a zipped .iso file.

WinRar is notorious for showing you the same icon for .iso's.

There are settings that you can use to change that, so you never get that icon with winrar.

In your window settings choose a default program for .iso's and you'll never get that again.

Because Windows OS is using WinRAR as your default .iso program.

It's in your PC settings.

You may be able to right click the .iso and select 'open with' if it's available. Then select you .iso program.

It may give you the option to always use that program in the future then...hopefully, it wont associate real .rar files ...you know what I mean. Then your rar files would show the icon for your iso program....lol.

two things you can do:
1. open winRAR and go Options->Settings->Integration and unselect ISO
2. in winXP right click on an iso and and go to properties, and near the top it says the file type and opens with. change what it opens with to nero or DVD decrytor

hehe thats what i figured you did. an iso is the actual image of the disc. so its ready to be burnt to a dvd. but to transfer it to the hdd you need the actual files off the iso. i recommend Qwix. you jut load up the ISo and click ftp upload all and it will extract and ftp all the files in one step.
