When you say modded, do you mean soft or hard modded? Hard modded meaning you have a chip in it.
I guess either way if you have it hard modded or softmodded, you can play a system link game together. When talking about playing on Xbox Live, you'll need to have your modded xbox to be hardmodded. With a softmod you can't really turn "off" the mod unless you have multiple hard drives installed and still have the factory hd to replace it with. Otherwise playing an Xbox Live game with a softmodded xbox will get you banned from Live, and I'm sure that you won't want that.
If you have it hardmodded though, all you have to do is "cloack" or disable your modchip, most chips can be configured to turn off with a button during boot or an actually external switch like the X3. Either way, make sure you don't get banned from Live., it sucks! _________________ XBOX v1.6c

you need to use a crossover cable or buy the official M$ connect kit. regualr network cables won't work. and you also need to have a copy of the game. the game in the unmodded box of course being an original copy of the game as it won't play backups

Yep, make sure you have a crossover cable. Two copies of the game ( one backup and one retail or both retail ) And you should be good to go. You can pick up crossover cables at any computer store usually. _________________ XBOX v1.6c

yea mine required soldering, on a v1.0 theres 2 points on the top and 2 points on the bottom of the mobo that need to be connected. i didn't actually solder it though. i used this nifty pen with conductive fluid in it and just drew a line between the points. i beleive on a v.1.1 to v1.5 you don't have to take out the mobo as only the points on top of the mobo needs to be connected. not sure about the patch cable.

Patch cables and crossover cables are different. Crossover cables switch some of the leads around for direct connection ie. xbox2xbox xbox2pc pc2pc. Crossover cables make it so the output of one is directed to the input of the other and visaversa. Regular patch cables are for connecting to a router or switch. They do not invert the leads. So if you were to try and use a regular patch to connect xbox2xbox you would be connecting input2input and out2out. It wouldn't work.
