I have a disc with Evox Dash on it, and I have a hub connecting the x box to my pc. I turn on the x box and load Evox Dash, then using Flashfxp attempt to connect but it says no route to host. I have the Ip address and subnet mask of the x box, the password and user name are x box, using port 21 and anonymous is not checked. I click connect and it fails everytime. Please help i do not know what i am doing wrong.
The hub is brand new and the cables are working perfectly.
Thanks,
Teggins

Ok, lets check the basics first
Cables: Do you have a linklight on the xbox lan port, hub lan ports, and pc lan ports?
Adressing: Is you IP configuration dhcp or static? if it's static, which I recommend, is the ipaddress scheme synched? ie: xbox 192.168.0.2 pc 192.168.0.x, both using the same subnet mask?
Can you ping the xbox from your pc?
Firewall: This can prevent a ping or an FTP connection, try turning off you FW if you have one.
Make sure network is enabled in evox.
I had an xbox where I had to "disable" then " enable" the network card on my pc in network properties before it would connect ftp even though I could ping fine.
Also, I had a problem when i uninstalled zone alarm and I could not ftp until I re-installed it . _________________ XBOX v1.1

Alright, the cables are fine, and i do not have a firewall enabled. My x box ip is 192.168.0.22 and the subnet mask 255.255.255.0. I am using static ip on the x box. How can i change the ip adress and subnet mask on my pc to match the x box (if thats what needs to be done) Or should i change the ip on the x box to match my pc? Thank you very much for helping me out.

You need to make sure the network card connected to the hub in in the same subnet as the xbox. You set this in the network connections of windows.
Right click on my network places (for xp) or network neigborhood (2000, 98,95) and sleect properties.
You should see Local area connection 1, 2 , ect depending on how many network cards yoa have installed.
Right click on the connection going to the xbox, select properties, slect tcp/ip protocol, then properties.
USe the follwoing ip address should be checked if you are using static ip. Use any address in the same subnet as the xbox (xbox is 192.168.0.22 you can use 192.168.0.x x is any number from 1 to 254, so 192.168.0.20 would work just fine) make sure the subnet mask matches the xbox 255.255.255.0.
I usually point the default gateway at the xbox (192.168.0.22) unless you are using this network connection to get to internet.
Verify that you can see the xbox by going to a command prompt (start, run, cmd) ping 192.168.0.22 (the xbox should be turned on) and you should get a reply. If this works try ftp'ing again. _________________ XBOX v1.1
