I have the Auto-Installer Deluxe CD and was wondering if I could update the bios on my chip(X2.3B Liite) from the cd. I'm hoping that I don't have to reflash the chip to just upgrade the bios. I just updated the Dash from 3921 to 3935 and all of the apps on the cd. Is it recommended that I do this or should I just leave things alone if there working fine???

if its working fine then leave it alone ,
and if you want to update your chip then use the xecuter bios menager

I need a step by step on what to do in case I update my chip. I want to keep my 120gb hardrive and my 3935 evox dash. I should not have to reformat the hd if I upgrade my chip??? Is this correct??

I am unsure if that chip can update via the xbox dvd drive. It was my understanding that particular chip needed a programmer to be flashed. I have never really messed around with that chip so I can't be 100% sure.
You should not have to worry about your HD if you flash your chip with a different bios. But, why are you wanting to change your chips bios? If you aren't having issues with backing up games or playing backups, then what's the point to changing the bios?
You will need Xecuters bios manager also I believe if you plan on flashing that chip via programmer.
I dont know if you have to remove the chip or not. I am sure we have some X2.3 guru's here that can confirm how to flash that chip and whether or not you have to remove to do so.

Your right, I have no issues with my chip. I'm not going to reflash anything at this moment....it would be stupid if I did that. when everything is running smooth. The only thing I did was update my apps and my dash with the auto-installer cd.. Let's say in the near future I decide on upgrading my chip(just a thought) which one would you recommend me to get ModGod??? And if so, I'm guessing that's were the auto-installer comes to play for flashing it right? I'm aware that the 2.3 needs an external programmer....is that the only mod chip that requires that? Thanks for the info!!

I guess experimentation is not so good, unless your buddy lends you his xbox to perform open heart surgery!! I'm so fired up about this website and all the tools in here that I can only eat,sleep,and shit mod..mod..mod. Actually, the chip you have now is an okay chip, even though it's discontinued. The problem is the chip isn't real flexible.
You never know when game developers may change the way they encrypt games and a special bios may be needed. This is doubtful as if that was the case then many xbox's world wide would also need their stock bios upgraded, and how would that happen?
So, if you are able to backup, play backups, and enjoy everything you want now, then stick with what you have.
If you ever want to upgrade a chip because you want a LCD, or web server functions then I would go with the SmartXX chip. The X3 is a good chip too, just not impressed with the current hacked bios. They are improving though.

Thanks, the site is not even close to being done. I have a lot of things I am trying to work on, but time is limited.
I am switching my entire site over to a Content Management Software solution in effort to be able to do a lot more.
I also am working on opening a retail location here in my home city. Hope I can get it open by Spring.
Take it easy and thanks for checking out the site. Keep looking, it will be changing soon. This is still my number 1 home though...
