I am new to the world of modding, but don't see myself has illiterate. I successfully installed the X-Chip for my v1.3 xbox. I have downloaded multiple bios to replace cromwell however when I boot my xbox Cromwell Bios v.1.0 comes up with multiple banks to place new bios. I flash in new bios (i.e. Evo X), run them. If it weren't for the bios new intro (pink triangle or what have you) I would not notice any change, because I don't know how to flash a dashboard. I have AID and have burned it multiple ways (recreate then replace default.xbe, etc.) that I have read on these posts and in tutorials, using multiple disks DVD+-R/RW and different brands, but it won't read.

All I want to do is get the disk to read so I can install my new HDD 160G. I need help. Any suggestions?

download the autoinstaller 1.1 ,

burn the iso to dvd-r , try burning it @ 4x speed ,
burn it with nero and make sure you check the finalise the dvd option if its not checked

do not extract and edit it couse there is nothing wrong with it ,

do you know how to correctly burn an iso?

Yes, thank you for your post however, the first thing I tried to do was just burn it using Nero witch is my favorite program. After it didn't work I went on to the dummy Cd. that didn't work so on to re-creating it i went, but to no avail. I have used multiple disk types, DVD+R, DVD-R, and WR. different brands...etc.

I guess I'm wondering could there be any fault in my application of the software? do I need to install something previous to AID? Is there a technique as to when to put the disk in, or restart the EvoX? Or maybe even something I've just missed completely in my research?

Once again thanks for your post, any new advice?

try to burn a disk of music or something that you know would play, then you can determine if its the disk or your process. The xbox is build from pretty decent components so i would guess its the process if you have tried a few types of discs.
