i have a xbox that has been modded how do i find out what chip if any do i have installed and what bios and how do i change the hd can i just hook it up and copy it ??? when i turn on the xbox it says executer how do i know which one do i have.

Well, I believe there are some applications that can help you attain some of the information, but I have never had much success with them.
What i would do is just remove the six screws on the bottom of the machine and pull the top off.
Then, disco the IDE cable and power cable from your HD and remove the three screws holding the carriage down.
There is one in the middle of the carriage and then one on each side of the DVD drive toward the front. If you need images for this, let me know. I'll post a couple that show you where these screws are. You will need torx bits for your driver, size 10 and size 20.
You will then be able to disco the power and IDE cable from the DVD Drive and lift them up and out of the machine.
Then, you want to look to the left of the motherboard and see if you see the chip.

Once you know what chip you have, you can then know how to determine what bios you are running.
